Working Alongside People with Intellectual and Learning Disabilities

About our clients

This is an invitation to stand in the shoes of the men and women we know and work alongside of.  It is our belief that the “personal is political” to quote the feminist slogan.   We want you to get to know ALL of us - personally.  These stories are hypothetical but represent many typical narratives of people attending our organisation.

It is our experience that the lack of relationship between people of diverse abilities leads to poor understanding about the lived reality of people who are constructed as having ‘intellectual, learning and cognitive disabilities’.

This is our invitation to you to take just a few seconds to stand in their shoes - for you to know the story of our people.  We think that it is in knowing the person that you will be able to put into context the work that we do, and we hope that you will be drawn to supporting the work of our organization and working alongside us to help people make changes in their lives.

Nothing about us without us!
