Working Alongside People with Intellectual and Learning Disabilities

Change of Date! Supporting people with intellectual disability in the Justice System

WWILD training 'Supporting People with Intellectual Disability in the Justice System' has had a change of date!

Due to the original date clashing with the Criminal Justice Symposium - Intellectual Disability and the Criminal Justice System - 19-20 June 2014 (see note to follow). WWILD has made the decision to postpone their training on 'Supporting People with Intellectual Disability in the Justice System', which was to be held on the 20th June 2014.

New date: Friday 1/8/14, 9:30am - 12pm.

This training will give you practical skills and knowledge to better support people who have an intellectual disability who have been a victim of crime and are entering the justice system.

You will gain knowledge about:

·         Rights of the client

·         Reporting to the police

·         The court process

·         Barriers to justice

·         Strategies to advocate and better support the client

·         Financial assistance for victims of crime

·         Responsibilities of workers when responding to a disclosure
