QAI Human Rights Telephone Legal Advice Service Re-Launch

 

Queensland Advocacy Inc. (QAI) have rel-launched their Human Rights Telephone Legal Advice Service.

 

Do you have an INTELLECTUAL, COGNITIVE OR PSYCHIATRIC DISABILITY?

 
     AND
 
    CAN YOU ANSWER YES TO ANY OF THESE QUESTIONS?
 
·           Does the public trustee or someone else manage your money?
 
·           Do you have a guardian?                                                                                                                                                 
 
·           Are you unhappy with your service provider?
 
·           Are your rights being ignored?
 
·           Have you been abused or neglected by those caring for you?
 
·           Have you been locked in a room or stopped from using things where you live?
 
·           Have you been treated differently because of your disability?
 
·           Do you want advice about a Will or a Power of Attorney?
 
·           Are you on a Forensic Order or Involuntary Treatment Order?
 
Then our Telephone Legal Advice Service (TLAS) may be able to help you!
 
Our volunteer Lawyers can:
 
·       provide legal advice
·       general information
·       or make a referral for you if needed.
 
Our lawyers like to speak with the person who needs our help.
 
However if that is not possible, we may speak to:
·       family members
·       friends
·       individual advocates
·       and/or legal guardians.

TLAS operates every Thursday from 9:00am – 5:00pm. Appointments are essential.
