Disability Training Program - Victims of Crime is funded by is funded by the department of Justice and Attorney General.  Their website provides a comprehensive range of information available about the program which are currently funded and also gives information on Disability Services throughout Queensland.

Victim Assist Queensland
This is the new scheme for victims of crime in Queensland that commenced on 1 December 2009.  Victims can receive financial assistance, information on the scheme and how to apply, as well as referral to support services to assist their recovery from an act of violent crime.  To contact Victim Assist Queensland call 1300 546 587 from 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday,

The Disability Discrimination Legal Service (DDLS) is part of the Cairns Comunity Legal Centre and is a specialist service, which provides legal advice, information and referrals to people with disabilities who have been discriminated against because of their disability. The DDLS is available to such people in the area of North Queensland (north of Mackay).

Professor Dick Sobsey: Dick Sobsey is a professor of Educational Psychology at the University of Alberta. He is the Director of the John Dossetor Health Ethics Centre and of the JP Das Developmental Disabilities Centre. He has worked with people with mental and physical disabilities since 1968 and is the father of young adult with severe and multiple disabilities.

Professor Susan Hayes
: Susan is recognized in Australia as an international expert in the field of people with intellectual disability in the criminal justice system both as victims and offenders.  She has written widely in the area and has developed the Hasi – a tool which can be used as a predictive test on the likely presence of an intellectual disability.  It has been used by legal aid and in New South Wales by police and in the criminal justice system.
