Working Well With Women with Disability – Online Training Webinar Series
We are very excited to launch a series of online workshops in partnership with WorkUP Queensland and Queenslanders with Disability Network.
The aim of the ‘Working well with Women with Disability’ series is:
- To build confidence, knowledge, and skills to work well with people with disability experiencing sexual, domestic, or family violence.
- Provides information about where and how to access additional resources to support this work and good practice examples.
- And at an organisational level the series explores what it means to provide a service that is accessible, welcoming, and inclusive to people with disability.
Over 5 sessions participants will learn more about women with disability and their experience of gender-based violence, explore what good practice looks like and find out how to access resources to support this work.
The series will run from September to November, and is co-designed, developed and delivered with women with disability.
Workshop topics include:
Workshop 1: Foundational knowledge – Women with Disability (Online)
Workshop 2: Understanding gendered violence in the context of women with disability (Online)
Workshop 3: Good practice in working with women with disability (Online)
Workshop 4: Resources and support for working with Women with Disability (Online)
Workshop 5: Inclusion of women with disability in organisations as clients and staff (Online)
These workshops are aimed at the sexual violence, domestic violence and women’s health sectors and are provided at low cost ($22-$44 each). However all service sectors are welcome to participate in order to improve knowledge and practice skills in working with this group of people.
