What to do if someone hurts you

Safety first!

If you feel scared and something bad has happened to you, or you are still in danger, you need to get some help and go somewhere safe.

Go to a place where you feel safe, or call someone you trust and make a plan to go to a safe place.

You call Police on 000 if you are in immediate danger or Policelink on 131 444 if you would like to talk to someone about reporting a crime.

If you are hurt in any way you need to see a doctor. You can visit an accident or emergency department in a hospital or go see a GP. You can tell them what happened.

If you keep thinking about what happened, you start to feel anxious and scared, it may help to see a counsellor.

You can call WWILD Sexual Violence Prevention Inc. on 07 3262 9877,
1800 Respect on 1800 737 732, DV Connect on 1800 811 811, Lifeline on 13 11 14 or Relationships Australia on 1300 364 277 to get some help with how you are feeling.
