What to do if someone hurts you
Safety first
If you feel scared and something bad has happened to you, you first need to think about being safe. If you are in danger, you need to get some help and find somewhere safe.
Go to a place where you feel safe or call someone you trust, and make a plan to go to a safe place. You can also call the police on 000 or 131444.
If you are hurt in any way, you need to see a doctor. Visit an accident or emergency department in a hospital. You can also go see a GP. You can tell them what happened.
If you keep thinking about what happened, you start to feel anxious and scared, it may help to see a counsellor.
You can call WWILD Sexual Violence Prevention Inc. 07-3262 9877,
1800 Respect 1800 737 732, DV Connect 1800 811 811, Lifeline 13 11 14 or Relationships Australia 1300 364 277 to get some help with how you are feeling.
