Homeless Hotline is a general/mainstream only phone information and referral service for people who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of homelessness.

Homeless Hotline helps:

  • single people aged over 16
  • mothers with children
  • fathers with children
  • families
  • couples
  • those experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness.

When you call, they will provide information about where you can find support, accommodation, meals or showers or other support services.

DV Toolkit – Tenants Queensland provides domestic and family service providers and workers supporting women with DFV related tenancy issues in Queensland with advice. Residential Tenants Authority: They provide tenancy information and support, bond management, dispute resolution, investigations and prosecutions, and policy and education services. Mainstream service only.

Anglicare Southern Qld: Support for Women Experiencing Homelessness. Their services in Brisbane offers temporary accommodation and support for:

  • Single adult women who are unaccompanied by their partner or child/children
  • Single young women (aged 16-25 years) who are pregnant and or parenting children under four years of age.

Brisbane Youth Service is a registered Tier 3 housing provider under the National Regulatory System – Community Housing. BYS assists homeless young people (age 12-25) and young families to find and maintain safe, stable accommodation and to develop the skills needed to maintain their own property. They try to find appropriate housing for young people and young families experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless.

HART4000 – Homelessness Assessment and Referral Team is an assessment and referral team that works closely with anyone who may be homeless or at risk of becoming homeless in Brisbane. They believe that housing is a basic human right and we help people to find the home that is right for them. HART 400 can help with:

  • Housing advocacy and support.
  • Direct referrals to emergency accommodation providers.
  • Referrals to and assistance with community and social housing: applications, support letters, bond loan and rental grant applications.
  • TICA checks.
  • Assistance to get housed and stay housed.
  • Case coordination and support.
  • Help to find sustainable housing that is suitable for your need.

Kyabra Housing Support Services   – Brisbane & Sunshine Coast 

Kyabra Housing Support Service provides Transitional Supported Accommodation and support families who are homeless or about to become homeless. Support can be available to families, young people and individuals to obtain and sustain housing.

Sunshine Coast site, based in Nambour, offers a range of professional supports and services to address homelessness and domestic violence in the community.

They offer a broad range of accommodation and services that can assist people to transition to secure and affordable accommodation in the community, so they can rebuild their lives with the supports that they may require.

  • A purpose-built domestic and family violence shelter “Peggy’s Place” for single women and women with children escaping gendered violence (six units).
  • Units for single women, families and parents who have overnight contact with their children.
  • Generalist homelessness accommodation for families.
  • Units specifically modified for people with a disability who are homeless.
  • A homelessness early intervention program, KEIHS (Keys to Early Intervention in Homelessness Service) operates in partnership with other providers in hubs located in Deception Bay, Caboolture, Maroochydore, Nambour, Gympie and Caloundra.

Caboolture Supported Accommodation Services – The Salvation Army – Caboolture region

Salvation Army Caboolture Supported Accommodation is a temporary accommodation service for families that are homeless. The program is funded by SAAP (Supported Accommodation Assistance Program) which aims to provide an environment that facilitates positive outcome for individuals and families.
